The end of year dance in 2021 was a precious and unique experience to me and it ended with style the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Folk Dance Group of Canberra.

This year we were especially drawn to Folk Dance Canberra's performance on Stage 6 at the Multicultural Festival on Saturday. We joined the appreciative audience to watch the only truly 'international' showcase of dances at the festival - all the others were 'national', we think.

Tanya proved to be a powerhouse of a teacher at the advanced dance workshop on Monday evening, with an ever-ready smile and a great sense of fun that was much appreciated by all who attended.

FDC supports Australian Dance Week, 29 April – 4 May

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Folk Dance Canberra has had to cancel it’s performance at the Little Burley Market on Saturday 3 May 2025 as part of Australia Dance Week.

FDA Zoom Workshops for 2025

Folk Dance Australia will be running more virtual workshops during 2025 via zoom featuring international world dance teachers.

Sunday 22 June : George and Nicole Kiriakidis, senior dance instructors of one of Australia’s premier Greek folk dance troupes “Florina Aristotelis”.

These workshops are free for FDA members. Annual membership: $25. Contact: okaye@optusnet.com.au

Folk Dance Canberra will also provide their hall and large screens for accessing these workshops via zoom.
